Summary: A training cruiser on a tour of the Wolf 359 system is under attack by Nausicaan pirates. Save the cadets and investigate the enemy incursion.

Author’s note: Despite what one might think, this mission neither involves the Borg nor time travel.

One of the first UGC missions I encountered on Holodeck was a Nausicaan farming mission set out of Wolf 359. The mission’s distaste was compounded by its location; Wolf 359 has a certain symbolic value, and it’s the last place that a Starfleet captain should have to fight off wave after wave of Nausicaan fighters for a kill achievement.

But I got to thinking — maybe there was a story here. Just what were the Nausicaans doing at Wolf 359? That brainstorming resulted in this mission. There is some combat, but what Star Trek episode would be complete without a dash of technobabble and some pseudo-philosophizing?
