So while Terilynn was down in Los Gatos checking out top secret Cryptic stuff of which I’m absolutely jealous over, this left NemesisChiken and I to do the podcast ourselves. When RSA showed up, I jumped at the chance to have them on the show, but I now realize how much of a mistake that might have been. This is, indeed, the most inappropriate episode of Podcast UGC there will probably ever be. And because its short, and because I am, as All Things Trek call me, a “glutton for punishment”, I went ahead and did something I’ve never done before: I left the preshow on the final MP3. So people who download us only and never tune in live now get a chance to hear what we do before we start up the show. However, keep in mind, that also means I had to do one other first for the show: not simply cut out cuss words, but literally bleep them out! Yikes!

Gentlemen,

Thanks for taking the time to review my mission! Despite the controversy generated by my used of assumed back-story, I appreciated the ideas and thoughts you shared–with the exception, perhaps, of the TMNT tangent. After hearing your feedback, I have made the following changes:

* To avoid confusion, I have changed all of the “Skip Dialogue” options to “Summarize Dialogue.” Players no longer have to guess about whether they will get a summary when they choose this option. It should also be noted that players who accidentally choose this option actually have the ability to switch back to normal dialogue if they desire.

* Players who choose the combat approach now have the ability to summon a group of ensign-level security escorts before the final fight (this is purely optional). The Reman captain is arguably the toughest boss asset available in the Foundry, and this is the source of the only complaints I have received from players who gave the mission a low score and actually left a comment.

* For players who have very strong feelings about their character’s back-story (e.g. Havraha) I have added a stronger disclaimer in the mission description describing my use of this storytelling technique. This will allow players to make a better decision about whether this mission is right for them.

p.s. The review left by the player claiming that the mission almost made him/her cry was written by stranger and was quite genuine. As of this writing, only 5 of the 131 reviews posted to this mission have been left by friends/fleet members; all of them were encouraged to write their honest thoughts and opinions.
