Verry useful do you think you could do a tutorial on placing crue on a brige like the galaxey siting in seats. now that foundry is up you think you might be abel to up date X,Y,Z cordants for the foundry.
Hmm… thanks for the suggestion. I imagine that placing the crew on a bridge in chairs would require a lot of minor adjustments to the X and Z coordinates. I’ll play around with it to see if there are any tricks. Thanks!
Nice workaround, and something I’ll definitely play around with. I assume however, as you used a Fed group as the basis for the drones, if there were ‘real’ Borg on the map they would attack and kill the defective drones?
I suppose you could set the Borg to ‘passive mode’, perhaps using a neutral group, which may get around this (think of the ‘Assimilated’ mission where you go onto the Borg Cube)… time to investigate, methinks.
Whoops, I got that the wrong way around, what I meant was to use a neutral group for the defective drones, so the real Borg don’t target them.
Yes, that is a good idea. If you have real borg on the map, then they would likely try to kill the defective drones. I guess I should have used a neutral group to clarify. Thanks!
Thing is, I tried it out using various neutral groups but they all had the same problem. The neutrals all broke their idle stance and went to attack the real Borg.
I did however find a workaround: use one of the ‘Animal – Single X’ groups. They will continue to stand there doing their animation even when surrounded by Borg. It makes it more cumbersome to set up as the Animal groups only contain one actor, but it does work.
Thanks for the tip. There are some cool benefits to doing it with the single targ, because you can add variety to the animations, chat animations, etc.
It’s strange that the neutrals attack the Borg, though. It could be a problem with a specific group of neutrals. Each type of npc group seems to act differently.
I actually did use npc’s to fill bridge positions on a map that I created for a mission I haven’t published yet and I can attest to the pain it is to align them just right to sit in a seat. It would be easier of the positions were slightly better defined on the map overview so you could actually tell the detail of what position was where.
I bet that was a pain. It’s hard enough to place a building and tell which way it will be facing in the foundry. Lining things up is a nightmare. A 3D preview would make a huge difference.

Yeah, lol. However, I’ve seen people mention that it’s much better to use a martini glass at a -1. That increases the trigger radius of the object if it’s not too below the ground.
