Captain’s Log – Episode 3: The Terms of an Imperfect World

Hello (Rachel) Chris, as always you did an awesome job. I went through this with Pirates Of The Burning Sea in 2010. It’s a sad state of affairs for STO, but welcome the free to play. It is clearly obvious that PWE does not care about community or at least our community. I agree with you 100% that is not worth your time or mine to produce content for the game. What ends up happening is that we just become mouthpieces for the game as living ads for the game which is not right, but we do it anyway. But I look at it as I do it “Not for the Company and not for the Game, but for the Community”. As the Audio Engineer for Tribbles In Ecstasy, I believe in the community that we have. I personally spend on average, 16 hours of my Sunday (Every Sunday(technically my day off of work)) and that’s NO LIE!!! to edit the Talk show so people can listen to the best talk show that I can give them on my side of things. When you have that kind of commitment, it is because you believe in something and not getting any respect from the parent company or doing stupid $HIT like this, it really does Hurts. And know something, I think PWE just does not care (they don’t give a $HIT!!!). I am not going to bag on cryptic studios (if they’re still called cryptic studios). I really believe some of the developers have just as much passion for the game and for Star Trek as we do, although since free to play happen we have lost two very important ones. Is a shame that has come to this, I wish a Star Trek Fan that had Money!!! or (George Lucas lol NO!!!!!!!!!!) would have bought cryptic studios. Then I believe we would be in a different state of the game and we would be an a different frame of mind of the game as we are now. Good info on the PWE TOS. They rule with an iron Chinese fist. If anyone wants to speak freely about STO and PWE, feel free to sign up at my unmoderated forum that features a topic just for venting about STO devs, lol. Tell your friends. Anything overly negative said on the official PWE forums may get your account deleted and reported to Chinese intelligence agencies as well it seems, lol.

Hi,

just to be fair, even if I alluded to it in the discussion of the ToS, I don’t think that having a Chinese parent has anything to do with the content and form of the ToS. Actually, EA’s Origin ToS are very similar in nature.
