BINGO! The podcast was SPOT-ON about the Foundry reviews. I’m been dumbfounded by some of the ratings and comments I’ve received on my own Foundry mission.

Some users simply have no idea about the gross limitations within the current Foundry IDE. None!

I waited almost a year to start my first mission, hoping there would be numerous Foundry updates/improvements. (I’m still optimistic; they’ll be here in the months ahead.) And I finally decided to forge ahead with Foundry development work… and can sympathize deeply how painful the process is. Which makes it equally painful when various negative review comments roll in.

It also slays me when people say:

- “there were typoes” (For starters, that’s “typos”. Second, I’ve seen missions with no punctuation, poor grammar, and typos galore. I dare anyone to find a typo in my mission, yet non-existent typos have been found. Lovely, eh?)

- “too much dialogue” (Yes, please ignore the warning at the beginning of the mission, clearly stating this is a dialogue-heavy mission.)

The list goes on…

People will be people; comments can be taken personally, learned from, and ignored. I have faith in the Player Community. And I’ll take constructive criticism.

But can we start rating the reviewers? ;-D

Great Show! I wanted to say, although Teri said there was nothing that DStahl could learn at Zynga, thats not exactly correct, he could learn how they make those small formfactor games, for use as minigames in STO, Raumschach ( Tri-D chess )anyone.
