Duft Grazorak is a very complicated person. He’s an ex-Starship Captain, a good one, who became disillusioned with Starfleet and quit to become what amounts to a pirate, living out Christopher Pike’s fantasy. Like nearly every Starship captain ever portrayed, he eventually stole a starship, LOL.

Grazorak City was an old starbase abandoned by Starfleet, after Khitomer, and changed hands several times until Duft Grazorak eventually aquired it from a Ferengi. It’s located in a sort of no-man’s land. For the wealthy, it’s a great place to get away from the papperazzi, etc., it’s very lavish, with eminities (such as harry Mudd’s venus Drug) that might even be illegal in some places.

It’s sort of a “Casa Blanca” or “Cloud City”, and Duft Grazorak is sort of a mixture of Rick Blaine, Lando Calrissian, and Dr. No.

I wish all of my characters were as fleshed-out as Duft Grazorak. A lot of my characters are based on table-top RP charaters, and so they enjoy years of backstory and character development, but some I have to make up on the fly.
