Gates of Sto’Vo’Kor’s Temporal Foundry Contest

Foundry authors, prepare to dive into Star Trek Online’s Foundry as Gates of Sto’Vo’Kor is pleased to announce our latest Foundry Contest …. featuring Time itself.

Star trek shows have given us a glimpse into what the Federation and Starfleet might be like as a temporal faction … but what of the Klingon faction.

Both the Korath and Krenn class temporal ships have shown us that the KDF as a faction DO dip their hands into the flow of time … but how?

Those entering the contest need to design a foundry mission that features the KDF temporal faction in some way.  How you do that is completely up to you, however it must be for the KDF faction and have a run time of no more than 30 to 45 minutes to be considered.

The top five winners will have their choice of one of five prize packages, with first place getting first choice:

– Requisition for a Temporal Science Ship

– Requisition for a Temporal Shuttle

– Requisition for an assortment of four different cross faction consoles.

– Klingon Mirror Battle Cruiser

– Klingon Mirror Qin Raptor

Contest entries must be submitted before midnight, on December 1st (PST).

To enter, simply post the name of the mission, your @handle, level requirements, and a brief description on this thread on the STO Forums. Please visit the Gates of Sto’vo’kor website for the official audio announcement.

The winning entry will also be featured in a future episode of Gates of Sto’Vo’Kor during our next season.

The conclusion to the Unholy Alliances Triology. I have developed a teaser trailer to help encourage people to play the mission. It’s for Federation players level 41+.

Synopsis: We have obtained the algorithm to unlock the Claw database we recovered. It’s still being analyzed. However, we do know that the Claw is being supplied with designs for advanced holographic technology, while a holographic virus is granting artificial sentience to holograms all over the quadrant.

It originates from an mining facility in the Otha VIII planetary system.  Go to the Otha system in Eta Eridani to investigate and stop the Claw.

A Tale of Two Ships

Your crew has examined the database recovered from the slave auction on Drozana station. Some of it was encrypted with an unknown algorithm. The key to unlocking the database can be found in the Otha System at one of several secret Claw bases, including a Sovereign class ship that they are refurbishing as a mobile command center. It’s up to you to investigate the Claw presence in the system, acquire the decryption algorithm, and foil their plans; whatever they may be.

Hi everybody.  It’s that time again.  I’ve been slaving away to put together another tutorial for you. We explore how to transform the Demo File we have been editing into a Foundry Mission Trailer.  We take a closer look at Rachel Garret’s STO Demo Launcher tool, Virtual Dub with the Xvid Codec, and Windows 7 Live Movie Maker.  I hope you enjoy it.

Some remarks/corrections:
- You cannot render at a resolution that does not fit on your screen. The sto client will shrink down the window to fit your desktop.
- I think, you are confusing 33ms (time between screen shots) and 30.0 fps (frame rate). STO always records a screen shot every 33.33ms, that makes 30.0 frames per second (30^(-1) = 0.03333…). So you should always set the frame rate in VirtualDub to 30.0 fps, instead of 33.

A contact on Drozana Station has some disturbing information.  A cadre of mercenaries, smugglers and pirates are selling crewmen as slave labor from several vessels they raided from the frontlines of the Klingon / Federation War.  She endangered her life in order to get us this information.  It appears she was abducted for it.  Someone needs to investigate her disappearance.  Someone has to rescue those crewmen and bring those responsible for these crimes to justice.
